Spare a thought for the poor employees at ELLE magazine (the American edition) who have had to deal with a lot over the past few weeks....
first they had to move out of their offices due to an infestation of bed bugs - possibly the same ones who were causing havoc at Victoria Secret and Nike. - and now, they have thieves in their midst.
An email was circulated to employees at ELLE and then leaked to the outside media...
"We're sorry to report that we have experienced several incidences of theft over the last few days. We are making sure we have locks available tomorrow . . . In the meantime, we urge you all to lock up your laptops or take them home with you until we have a way to secure them."
bad times for all involved. I once had a coat stolen at college. I felt sick for weeks. It was more like a pet then a coat. I had been wearing it about seven years at this point. It was a simple black duffel coat which had been both friend and coat. I missed it terribly. It never turned up.
Bastards.
