Alicia Keys and
Jennifer Hudson appeared with
Robin Roberts on
GMA, this morning, where they discussed their film The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister and Pete due out
October 11th. The film, which
Alicia Keys produced and
George Tillman Jr. directed, centers around two inner-city kids who are forced to fend for themselves in
New York City after their drug-addicted mothers are taken away by authorities.
Jennifer, who plays a heroin addict, told
Robin she spent time with a recovering addict in order to connect to her character. Alicia says that the movie is a powerful story of redemption and you never know who'll be there to help you in a time of need.
Outside of the movie the ladies talked about their children who are the same age,3.
Alicia Keys also promoted her upcoming fundraiser gala,
The Black Ball (November 7th). All proceeds will go to Alicia's charity,
Keep A Child Alive which assists people affected by
HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
This is going to be a good movie. These ladies are real life friends so I know the chemistry will be there. Can't Wait!
