Chopard Dresses Bond Girl In 140 Carats Of Diamonds - Forbes

Chopard has joined the cast of the latest James Bond film No Time to Die, to be released in April. Pieces from the jewelry firm's Green Carpet collection will make an appearance in the 25th Bond film, worn by Ana de Armas, who plays Paloma, a CIA agent, in the movie. She wears a Chopard necklace set with 43 carats of pear-shaped diamonds, a matching bracelet with 82 carats of pear-shaped and round-brilliant diamonds and earrings set with another 14 carats of diamonds. The actress will also wear jewelry made by Chopard on the red carpet at the film's premieres in several cities.

The Green Carpet collection is made from sustainably mined materials, says Chopard, including Fairmined gold, which is mined by small-scale operations that guarantee they extract gold under environmentally and ethically responsible conditions.

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Chopard is billed as an official sponsor of the movie, and has also created a Happy Hearts – Golden Hearts collection, which co-President and artistic director Caroline Scheufele says represents her vision of the James Bond Woman: determined and courageous. The heart motif is at the center of the collection, and Scheufele points out that the French equivalent, cœur, comes from the Latin cor, which means "courage" and is synonymous with bravery.

Scheufele also points out that the word gold is embedded in the James Bond DNA, with titles like Goldfinger (1964), The Man With the Golden Gun (1974) and GoldenEye (1995). The Happy Hearts - Golden Hearts collection includes bracelets, earrings, pendants and sautoir necklaces with gold hearts and diamond options. They are also made using Fairmined gold.
